Michael Crawford, Partner
Michael Crawford has over 20 years of investment banking and operating experience. During his investment banking career, Michael has executed mergers and acquisitions and raised equity and debt capital through both private placements and public offerings. Michael has worked with companies in a range of industries including telecommunications, software, alternative energy, consumer products and manufacturing. Noteworthy clients include Narus, Bolo Systems, and Switch Communications.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Michael spent five years with Level 3 Communications, a Fortune 500 telecommunications service provider, where he held leadership positions in Corporate/Business Development, Sales Management, and Marketing. Prior to Level 3, Michael was an investment banker with Prudential Securities in New York, as well as with a telecom-centric boutique and a leading middle-market firm, both in Denver.
Michael has served on the Board of Directors of the Parkinson Association of the Rockies and ArtReach, two non-profit organizations in Denver. Michael received a B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Rob Kaufman, Partner
Rob Kaufman has over 20 years of international capital markets experience raising and investing capital as both agent and principal, and representing clients in mergers and acquisitions. Rob has helped execute the mergers and acquisitions, financing and recapitalization strategies of clients including Circle Graphics, Highwinds Network Group, IP Commerce, MatchLogic, SpectraLink and Symbios Logic.
Prior to Q Advisors, Rob was President and CEO of netLibrary, Inc., where he was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a 2002 Technology Pioneer, a distinction awarded to only 69 CEOs worldwide. Before moving to Colorado, Rob was Managing Partner of a Boston-based investment partnership, and a Vice President with Goldman Sachs in London.
Rob is on the Board of the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) in Boulder, a past member of the Board of Advisors of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a past member of the Board of Directors of AeA Mountain States Council.
Rob received a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Michael Quinn, Partner
Michael Quinn has over 20 years of experience in capital raising and mergers and acquisitions, bringing a reputation as an effective problem solver and a provider of strategic advice to the clients of Q Advisors. Michael has led M&A and debt and equity financings in a variety of sectors including the competitive wireline telecom, wireless, digital media, social networking, mobile content, satellite and mobile infrastructure and solutions sectors for Q Advisors clients such as 2ergo Group plc, Arrival Communications, Associated Content, Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., GlobalCom, mBlox, NuVox, Inc., WildBlue Communications and XceedID.
Previously, Michael was a founder of and Chief Corporate Development Officer for VeloCom Inc., where he was responsible for capital raising and acquisition activities. Prior to VeloCom, Michael was a partner in the Denver-based law firm Holland & Hart LLP, guiding their international corporate finance practice. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Michael practiced with the New York-based law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.
Michael is an officer and director of the Southeast Denver Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball Association and involved with a number of non-profit charities involving disadvantaged youth.
Michael received a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law.

Patrick Scott, Partner
Patrick Scott has over 15 years of international investment banking and corporate finance experience. Since joining Q Advisors in 2006, Patrick has been the lead partner on a number of debt and equity financings and mergers and acquisitions transactions. His Q Advisors clients in the communications and technology sectors include Associated Content, Lucix, Narus, OpSec Security, and WildBlue Communications.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Patrick was a Director in KZC Catalyst’s $150 million private investment fund. Previously, he was a Principal in the Telecom Group with Bank of America Securities, raising over $2.0 billion in debt and advising companies on over $5.0 billion in transactions. His work with Bank of America included a $1.8 billion project financing for a BellSouth cellular subsidiary, earning IFR and PFI Deal of the Year in 2000. Patrick also created and managed his own consulting firm, advising on over $2.0 billion in merger and acquisition transactions, including the acquisition of a Qualcomm CLEC subsidiary by an MCI company and advising Embratel S.A., a Brazilian long-distance operator, in its bid to purchase strategic assets from AT&T Latin America.

Brian Barnell, CFA, Vice President
Brian Barnell has over 12 years of diverse financial experience that includes commercial lending, project finance, corporate finance and strategic advisory. Brian’s deep knowledge in the emerging communications sector has assisted clients such as 2ergo Group plc, Arrival Communications, Lightship Telecom, mBlox and Venda in maximizing value in strategic transactions through the design of creative capital structures and focus on the ideal positioning of each company given its sector’s current market dynamics.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Brian served as a Vice President in Bank of America Securities’ Global Structured Finance Group in New York. Previously at Bank of America, Brian served in the Latin America Debt Capital Markets and Global Project Finance groups, where he focused primarily on raising debt and equity capital for domestic and international communications service providers.
Brian received a dual B.A. (History and Spanish) from The University of California at Santa Barbara and an M.A. from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Brian holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Andy Monroe, Vice President
Andy Monroe brings over 10 years of diverse corporate finance experience to Q Advisors, having executed numerous private placement and merger and acquisition transactions across the Communications, Wireless, Software and other emerging growth sectors for companies including Bolo Systems, CP Communications, Crisp Wireless, Ringtone.com, and Twisted Pair Solutions.
Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Andy was Vice President with Seattle-based Cascadia Capital and previously a sell-side equity Research Associate for Chicago-based William Blair & Company, responsible for performing strategic analysis, financial modeling, and valuation analysis for the wireless communications, technology and other business services industries. Andy also held previous finance positions with FrontierVision Partners, a cable systems operator, and was a Senior Auditor in the Communications practice of KPMG.
Andy holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Chris Zook, Vice President
Chris Zook brings over 11 years of international corporate finance experience to Q Advisors. Over the course of his career, Chris has been involved in the execution of over $4.5 billion in public and private mergers and acquisitions transactions and private capital raises, including work for clients such as IP Commerce, Narus, SpectraLink and Stonesoft, and transactions involving IBM, Polycom, Texas Instruments and Thomson Reuters.
Prior to joining the firm, Chris helped establish the London office of SG Cowen (now Cowen & Co.), where he assisted software and technology industry clients with mergers and acquisitions. Before this, Chris served in the same capacity for SG Cowen in Boston and New York. Chris has also worked as a lender to middle market businesses.
Chris received a B.S. in Business Administration with honors from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.

Andrew Altorfer, Associate
Andrew Altorfer has over six years of investment banking and capital markets experience, having executed equity and debt financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the software, security, location-based services and alternative energy industries, including IP Commerce, OpSec Security Group and TechnoCom.
Previously, Andrew worked with Citigroup’s Private Equity Placements Group as a financial analyst, where he assisted in raising capital both for private equity funds and for early-stage and growth companies. Andrew started his career with Goldman Sachs as a middle office analyst in credit default swap and interest rate product trading.
Andrew received a B.A. in Finance with honors from the University of Illinois.

Daniel Kenney, Associate
Daniel Kenney joined Q Advisors following an exceptional academic career at the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at Q Advisors, Daniel has executed mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecommunications, software and technology industries, including CP Communications, Crisp Wireless and TechnoCom.
Daniel received his B.S. in Finance/Accounting with High Distinction, as well as a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado. He was named the University of Colorado’s Senior Scholar Athlete for 2006/2007 as well as Outstanding Finance Student by the Leeds School of Business.

Scott Miller, Associate
Scott Miller joined Q Advisors after a successful academic career at the University of Denver. During his tenure with Q Advisors, Scott has executed mergers and acquisitions and equity financings for clients across the software, energy technology, telecommunications and satellite industries, including Lochard Ltd, Ringtone.com and WildBlue Communications.

Wilma Shepherd, CFO
Wilma Shepherd has over 20 years of experience in business operations, consulting and engineering. Wilma is responsible for all financial operations and reporting at Q Advisors.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Wilma was an independent business consultant, working primarily in the professional services industry. She also worked as an in-house management consultant in the healthcare industry. In addition, Wilma worked in the oil and gas industry as an engineer, field supervisor and supervising engineer.
Wilma is actively involved in the volunteer community in Denver, including the Denver Public Schools. She is a past member of the Junior League of Denver.
Wilma received B.S. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Betsy Crane, General Counsel
Betsy Crane is General Counsel of Q Advisors. Prior to joining Q Advisors, Betsy worked with the Denver-based law firm Holland & Hart LLP on a variety of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, and technology transfer matters. Later, she worked as an in-house attorney for two Denver-based technology companies. Betsy is responsible for the firm’s FINRA compliance and related securities requirements, as well as general corporate and human resources matters.
Betsy received a B.A. in English from Bowdoin College, and a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was graduated Order of the Coif.
