Q Advisors Represents Summit Doppler Systems in its Acquisition by CooperSurgical

 

TRUMBULL, CT, August 25, 2011 - CooperSurgical, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Summit Doppler Systems, Inc. Summit, based in Golden, Colorado, is a recognized leader and quality manufacturer of hand-held ultrasound Doppler products used to detect fetal heart beat and monitor blood flow. Prior to the acquisition, CooperSurgical was a Summit customer purchasing their reliable obstetrical ClearTone® Doppler for many years.

 

Summit is also known for its advanced solutions for the diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). This is a common condition that affects 8-12 million people in the US, and early detection can prevent patients from further cardiovascular events. As a result, there is a growing awareness of PAD and the importance of its diagnosis and treatment.

 

Summit has a strong distributor sales channel as well as international distribution in over 80 countries with a diverse group of end users ranging from general practices and hospitals to specialists such as cardiologists, vascular surgeons and obstetricians.

 

The Summit team of 16 people will remain in Golden, Colorado; CooperSurgical will leverage its extensive engineering knowledge and market expertise with CooperSurgical’s broad capabilities and reach.
